Ok so have been seeing some interesting behavior from my gold stripes. I would associate it with spawning. They go down in the sand and wriggle I guess is the best way to describe it. So started looking around in the hole in the rock they live in and there's this orange grouping of things that they seem to pay attention to. I tried to take a photo but can't seem to get a focus on them as the fish keep swimming in front when I want to snap the picture anyway here's what I got.

next question is... if they are eggs and if they do hatch how do I keep the little buggers alive?

Sounds Like eggs to me. To keep them alive you'll need a seperate tank and alot of really specialized food & filtration

separate tank may be doable if it can be small. What type of "really specialized food & filtration"? So a hang in the tank thing like we used to use for guppies when I was a kid wouldn't work?

ok did some research. rotiffers... sound hard to do and then brine shrimp. Also where they eggs are laid would be impossible to remove that rock without exposing eggs to air... so don't think that's going to be possible.

Yup thats about right. Usually they'll just keep making more eggs. So you could plan for something in the future. My pair has eggs almost constantly now.

what you can do if you want breed them is put a ceramic tile in there or a chunk of a clay flower pot i hear is real popular and the clowns will lay on them once you have the eggs there easy to remove.... just beware momma is gonna bite **** out of ya lol....

Mine hatch and get eaten. Usually within a day.

dont your clowns defend them? Thats wierd they are pretty aggresive when u put your hand in. How many fish do u have 5 or so? ;)

I think I have 10 fish. The clowns try to efend, but with 8 fish constantly going for them, it's futile.

Rotis are fairly easy to grow, if you have the right technique. http://www.fishchannel.com/fish-magazines/aquarium-fish-international/february-2010/infusoria-fish.aspx
