Hi all. I am seriously up in the air about stocking my 135 gallon reef. I keep going back and forth! I am used to my small 46...

So here is what I have so far:

3 175w MH lights
30 gallon sump/refuge
about 215 lbs rock (total)
75lbs sand total
Plenty of filtration (I run sponges, poly and Chemi-pure)

Fish:
1- Yellow Tang
1- Scopas Tang
1 - Purple Firefish
2 - firefish (not sure if all of the firefish will get along...these two guys are in a smaller reef right now)
3 - blue/green chromis
1 - lawnmower blenny
1 - coral beauty
2 - Kaudern's Cardinal's
1 - Ocellaris Clown

What do you think? Am I done on fish? Should I add a few more? I kinda want a few anthias and maybe a Midas Blenny...What do you guys think?

Since you used the word reef I would say thats too many fish. I would drop it down to 8 or 9. Less fish less nutrients.

+1 ^^ That's a large fish count for a coral reef of 135gal.

im bad at estimating weight vs size, but to me it seems like a lot of water is gonna be displaced by the 215lbs of rock....

Small fish grow and tangs can get large.

i have 10 fish in a 125 and have to watch nitrates. I only have about 80-100 lbs of rock at the max with a 30-40 gallon sump/refrigum. My fish are mostly small 2 Ocellaris Clown the big one is like 2.5-3" , 1 purple faced fire fish, 1 yellow tang about 4-5 inch, 1 purple tang 3.5-4 inch, 1 coral beauty, 1 flame hawk, 1 manderan goby/dragonet, 1 midas bleny cute blue eyes, 1 6 line wrasse about 2" i think thats ok most won't grow too bad except the tangs. several sweet corals and a sweet mushroom from Toms son at the last auction thats doing awesome. the clovers are spreading over the rock very nicely and i hope will jump to the rock i put it on as the green star polips do. Very happy with my reef ATM and am looking forward to next fall when i get my end game tank.

I have 31 fish in my 400 gallon reef, and all seems fine. I also do a 40 gallon change every week to keep it in line.
