Any know if nerite snails will reproduce? I've noticed some new little snails (too small for a focused pic) in my sump. They are round, and look most like a nerite, though mottled brown. I also have ceriths and nassarius, but these new ones don't have any pointed ends. That's all I've intentionally put in the tank. Could this be a new hitchhiker, and I'm soon to be overrun with them? I've already seen 5 or 6...

nerites do reproduce in the aquarium and you wont be over run with them. they will self regulate their population. ceriths and nassarius snails also reproduce. its easy to see ceriths eggs due the the white squiggly lines that usually forms on the glass. those are cerith eggs. next time ceriths lay eggs at the store, i will post a pic. it will probably be only a day. they are constantly laying eggs

I have presonally grown nerite snails in captivity before. Never got very many though. The ones your seeing are probably Collonista Snails, a common hitchhiker.
