I ordered a bunch of corals from Mr. coral that were pastel and what didnt die off the first week lived for several weeks and then they bleached out. Has anyone been able to keep these alive for a 6 month period or longer?

Maricultured pieces are tough man... Especially coming from the ocean and getting chopped instantly and shoved in a box to ship... Stick to aquacultred man... Save the reef and money...;)

How do you know if you have an aquacultured frag? Does Dave at btr sell them? I have a pastel yellow/green frag from him that is doing fine. Probably isn't one then.

t5s will give you a pastel look... also zeovit tanks are always pastel..... you gotta strip the water and starve the coral to get those pale colors....

mr. coral does I call the chopping block method I bought 10 frags for 89.95 shipped and all but 3 died on me. it was a 89.98 lesson for me. I rather spend the extra money and get from a vendor that atleast qt's and holds for more then a few months. maricultred frags and also colonies are hard to keep alive even if it looks good for 6 months then it will most likely rtn in a day and die. that was always my luck with them.

i got a strawbery looking thing from bob but it wasn't looking too good not sure if it really is the strawbery thing your talking about. I feed them coral frenzy and the liquid stuff bob told me about. It still kas a pinkish insides but the boarders are blackish gray not sure how it is doing but the rest are really loving their home ATM.
