I got my ballasts (thanks scottg) and ordered my bulbs yesterday. My tank currently has 3 mh bulbs, a 250 watt in the center and a 175 watt on each end. I am going to change out the 175s with the new 250s.

My question is will I have to raise the light rack so the corals can get used to the higher PAR? or will they be okay cause I'm only going up 75 w in each bulb? The majority of my corals are SPS. Some corals are 10 inches from the waters surface, and the lights are about 12" from the surface of the water.

Thanks All for any help!

Probably be a good idea to raise them or put some screening material under them. You wont just be going 75w more but also new bulbs. Its a good idea to put screening material just on bulb change out.
