I'm pretty sure this goes here. I bought a colt coral from Dave the other day, cause I thought it looked cool and it is safe for my seahorses. Since I've got it though, it has shrinked by like three fold and clamed up. Polyps are still coming out, but it is clearly not happy. Anyone know why? All parameters are perfect, all my other corals are happy and healthy, and I've tried moving this thing to like four or five different spots to try and snap it out of this funk. Anyone else got any other ideas that I haven't tried maybe?

Oh and I'm sure these questioned will be asked......No there are no other corals near it stinging it, currently in med flow/med lighting but have had it in every combination of, 1.026, 0 across the board on tests, and did a waterchange right before adding the coral.

When I had one it would do that every once in awhile... It would stay closed for like 3 days then it would shed some skin and come back bigger and better.. that was my exp with them.... Maybe add a couple drops of iodine and see if that helps....

Colt coral is considered one of the easier of the leather corals and requires med. light and med. flow and some room to grow. I would put it where it's getting the right light and flow and leave it alone for a week and it should come back.

Ok so wait it out, let it be, and check iodine. Maybe a quick iodine dip? Yes? No? Maybe?

I was talking about the kind you dose... I think it will be fine honestly Justin... Just leave it alone and it adapt to the conditions and begin to take off...;)

****! This really hurts. I had one the size of a soccer ball and all of the sudden it did the same thing. Kept its color, but never opened up. never did it in a year and a half. Well after a week I thought it was dead and threw it away. I'm kicking my self in the donkey right now....... I was gonna post a pic, guess I should have
