How the heck do I get rid of these things... they are like weeds. I have tried s****ing them off and seems I can never get them off all the way and they instantly start growing back... I so wish I never got these.
Please help.
Thanks
John

Put all the rocks that have them on them into a separate tank, put them in very high flow and lower salinity to around .21 and they will wither away and die off in a couple weeks.

That is just mean. If I remember right lower PH will halt their advance.

That's true Tom, however, lowering PH puts alot of the desirables at risk,it does halt or at least slow growth but that statement is true for quite a list of corals... he stated that he simply wants the Xenia gone. I like Xenia myself, however, it does, as you know, spread like weeds in the right environment and apparently he has such an environment. Another possible solution Bentino is to sell or give away all the xenia you don't want to other members, local fish stores, ebay, etc...I do believe there is a club meeting coming up next weekend, a perfect opportunity to rid your tank of some.

I would definitely want to do this in a separate tank. The ammonia spike when they die could be devastating.

Thanks for all the input. Looks like I have some work to do. If I can make it to the club meeting, Xenia for everyone!

Or put the rocks with the xenia in a tank and warm the water to 90 degrees. Poof! No xenia. Guaranteed.
