Using TAP water

I am currently using RO water and I know that certain regions throughout the country have water that is acceptable for saltwater tanks.

So my question is. Has anyone here had any success with tap water over a long period of time. I have used it to top off in a pinch but nothing long term.

I did for a few months. But eventually you will grow a lot of Cyano and algae.

At the store we just use tap water for our marine system, and it is a headache. I'm constantly wiping algae away. At home I use RO/DI water only now, and I have noticed a huge difference since I switched over. A TON LESS MAINTENANCE!
