Anyone ever seen one pinch off it's own arms? Mine has basically "shed" a couple of arms. The arm starts to look like it's got an invisible rubber band right at the trunk, and then I find the arm in the sand a few days later. Other than that, looks healthy as can be.

they do that when they get large enough. if you don't catch em they'll spread like a weed!

It's not even that big....maybe 5" tall. I figured it was just reproducing, but I've had kenyas that were the size of a football before they started doing that....

my pom pom xenia ARE doing it too, but instead of dropping arms, they are moving like an anenome. Only they leave a trail of body from where they were to their new spot. One of them even did this right through the middle of a zoa colony!

keep an eye on those buggers, they'll overtake your tank!

I had my 400 over run with a Xenia forest and Kenya tree one also. Got rid of both, now they some how found a way back. Growing out of no where. All Kenya trees do that. If you had a large one that didn't it might have been finger leather or colt coal

Haha it seems that everyone had (have) the same problem... I used to have a 55g full of xenia, very hard to get rid of

There's a guy in town that buys Xenia for big bucks. I cant remember his username, but he always shows up when Xenia is posted for sale. I think he resells it online though

Well **** I just sold over 60 stalks of it to a friend of a friend.... I have maybe 15 kenya trees and more probably by the end of the month. I know the higher you have it in the tank the faster it seems to frag itself. There easier to remove than xenia. I had to sell the rock that the Xenia was on. Crazy! I regret buying those. Kenya not so much, however, if anyone wants one ill pull one out for you anytime.
