Having ur own RODI is the way to go, i thought it was hard at first but in reality its just the line from the water supply and the drain and the good line ... thats all once u install it kinda does its own thing ... so 5 gal weekly on a 100 gal tank so maybe u should do 15-20 a week by the end of the month that will become a bit more than 20% a month ... i do 5 gals every friday night ...

RO units are really simple. Where do you stay at. I can assist in hooking it up for you. All you need is a 75G per day 5 stage unit and you will be fine. I am actually thinking about adding another DI chamber onto mine. Bulk Reef Supply has great vids on how to install in various locations... Let me know.

2nd the easy. i put a T on my ice maker line and ran the line to the cabinet in my living room by my pantry. i ran the drain through the cabinets to my sink. i got a drain section from home depo you just take a section out and install this section and your done.
NEVER NEVER NEVER use tap water. It isn't nitrates you get it is phospates and everything else. get an RO unit then invest in a few 5 gallon buckets or better yet a 20 gallon trash can. then get an rio or other 900-1200 pump and some hose. put the pump in the bucket/ trash can and pump the water to your tank or sump. much much easyer. As for schedules i don't have one. I have sea weed in my refrigum and i check nitrates every so often. I have plenty of live rock and corals with 10 fish in a 125 gallon tank. you have seen it. i change water every few months maybe if something gets out of wack. I feed like **** and dose everything known to man 3 times as miuch as most say. By the way Tom the 2 sand sifing stars are fat happy and still alive after 3 months:) i feed too much. Just check your water. if your nitrates are over 10 get some RO from wal mart or some where and get them down. Get a refrigum and sea weed it thrives on nitrates.

The refugium is just a added chamber on my sump not a seperate one but if you already have a sump without one all you need is an added tank beside the sump to use as one. When troylee finnishes mine i'll post pictures but you can also go to Blue reef and see the one i'm having him build. the whole front will be a 40" by 20 inch tall refugium with an over flow into the return area and a pump pumping water in from the drain chamber.

I suggest supporting our sponsores and buying your unit through their link, (Air,Ice and water). They have fair prices, discounts for club members and always supported the club with donations.
