I'm curious what everyone uses for an algae cleanup crew. I have the basic snails and crabs and the like, but the snails don't seem to be cutting it anymore. I'm having severe outbreaks of hard green algae on my reef tank an the thing looks well...green. Any suggestions?
Try a sea hair? But he will die when all the algae is gone.
I think cucumbers eat algae, not sure tho

Cucumbers are a little large for my tank, as well.

I got sand sifters and that's it... One big cucumber 3 sand stars and like 20 or so nazzirus snails...
Oh ya about 1000 stomatellas that came as a hand full of hitchhikers and multiplyed like jack rabbits on the discovery channel.... Lol

I have one tiny little urchin but he only sticks in his corner and the surrounding rocks. Won't touch the glass anymore. I just got 4 more peppermint shrimp that are in my fuge right now. As soon as I get this brittle star out I'll put them in the main tank.

i just got a sally light foot from Greg At bra yesterday. He said it eats algae so i got it since my stupid /lazy tank is a meat eater and doesnt eat the algae.
Be careful. I've heard of those Sally lightfoots catching and killing fish.

i sure hope not! Greg said they wouldnt bother my fish that they eat algae but they say a yellow tang does too lol. Anyway he is small and my fish are much bigger i'd be more concerned of the clown or tang de-limbing the crab:)
Yea I heard as they are little it's ok. But once they grow they can catch and kill fish. I saw one thread where the crab killed a flame angel and a mandarin goby.

Green brittle star. They are notorious for capturing and eating fish in the tanks.
