So thought I was finished with plumbing. However, my unions leak that are conected to pumps I used thread lock and they are on tight. Am I missing something here? Yes I am a beginner. Thanks ahead of time.

teflon tape little white tape add only 2 complete rounds on the threaded portion going the same way the threads go.

They are threaded unions. I think I may have figured it out gonna take picture on how I had it.

Its always a good idea to thread tape any threaded joints if they are going to have something pass though them at pressure, be it water or gas. I had a leak when I made my ball valve limiter for my UV Sterilizer, put some tape on there and cranked it on with a pair of channel locks. No leaks at all since then.

i am guessing due to not being a o ring cus i just connected union half to pump is why it leaks? haha like I said I am a begginer to this plumbing.

Is the leak from the bottom or the top? It doesn't look like a threaded ball valve set up, is it?

The union cannot screw right to the pump. You need the two parts of the union that screw together, and a female threaded pipe adapter that screws to the pump and then the union is glued into the pipe adapter. From the photo it looks like the female side of the union is threaded directly to the pump.

Where is the leak coming from?? A union shouldn't need Teflon tape at all the o-ring seals it.. If you have any threaded connection I would recommend usin Teflon paste over the tape... I have never had a problem with the paste.... If it's where the union threads onto the pump it self use the paste and it should be solved...
